Directing is all about conversation. This passionate belief in conversation reflects my philosophy of live theatre: By sharing an experience together, we create a common language that disarms “dangerous” topics and allows authentic dialogue.

The stories we tell matter. When audiences navigate complex conversation, using the common language of a play they just experienced, and share candid, unexpected points of view with each other, something magical happens. Philosophies become more nuanced. Polarizing issues are humanized. People connect.

My goal is to bring out the best in my students by inviting them on a creative journey of discovery that manifests in personal growth and new understandings.

My commitment is to provide them with the tools they need to continue their journeys outside the classroom and into the real world.
